Bob Miles, Project Manager from our Hereford office, took part in the ‘Convoy for Heroes’ event at Long Marston airfield at the weekend. ‘Convoy for Heroes’ is a Land Rover event, with over 200 vehicles taking part and raising funds for Help the Heroes.
As this was an overnight camping weekend, Bob used his new Kelly Kettle to cook breakfast using biomass (wood chip) as a fuel.
Bob said, “It wasn’t the quickest way to have a fry up as it is not really designed for use with a large saucepan but it tasted delicious.”
‘Convoy for Heroes’ was launched in 2011, when a group of land rover enthusiasts broke the world record for the largest convoy, in aid of Help for Heroes, a charity that supports British service men and women who have been injured in action. Since then, over £30,000 has been raised.
As well as the parade of land rovers, in 2015 the event included children’s entertainment, live music, off-road fun, twilight tour and a range of caterers and traders.
