Impromptu Kayak Trip On The Thames

Tourists in London often take boat trips on the Thames. Our South West Regional Manager, Richard Treloar, took a boat trip on the Thames of his own recently, although his trip was a bit different than the norm.

Richard is a keen sea kayaker and a member of the Poole Harbour Canoe club. He is lucky enough to live  close to Poole Harbour, which is about 15 miles from the Energy Innovations’ Dorest Office. His usual playground is the spectacular Jurassic Coast of South West England. However a couple of weeks ago,  the tides were perfect for a return day trip from Putney to Greenwich. The trip was about 26 miles in total and a brilliant way for Richard to see the sights of London. The trip mixed the express London river traffic and the chance of an unplanned dip in the murky waters and was not for the faint-hearted.

We are pleased to report that Richard returned back to base safe and sound and reporting for duty on the following Monday.
