Energy Innovations are pleased to announce that we’re now working with a new distributor: Dorset based company Ace Energy. Together we will be supplying biomass boilers in Dorset and the surrounding counties.
Ace Energy is the renewables division of Ace Plumbing and Heating, which has been operating for 40 years in the South West of England. Ace Energy Manager, Alan Seviour, had been looking for a biomass boiler that would satisfy the company’s requirements, with ease of use and reliability being the most important criteria for their clients. “I was approached by Energy Innovations just when we were trying to make some decisions on whose equipment to use”, Alan said. “Energy Innovations [has] given us a lot of support for our first installations, which we don’t think we would have got from other suppliers. It has been invaluable in giving us a good understanding of the design and installation process”.
The first Gilles boiler installed by Ace was a 45kW HPK-RA in the ancient village of Hammoon, Dorset. The installation heats a 200 year old, 5 bedroom house. The owner, Mr Poe, approached Ace Energy for his installation after they had previously installed a Solar PV system for him in 2012.
Energy Innovations was able to help by supplying Ace with CAD drawings and design assistance, as well as on-site assistance with this initial installation. The boiler is sited in a stable block around 10 metres away from the main house, with underground piping to the heat exchanger in the house. An office in the stable yard has also been included in the heating network. Space was at a premium on the site and therefore the system was installed without a buffer tank, instead making use of a large heat exchanger to meet the heat load.
